Oh boy…
Sigh..
Today has been a very boring day. Students have been asked to go to school even though they are not really doing anything. We were supposed to watch a movie called The Emperor’s Club, but then, the projector malfunctioned. I kept on asking the principal why the couldn’t we just settle for a mere television, and she just told me that the television was already placed upstairs, in their penthouse. And I was like, WHAT? A television is a common necessity for a school to have, and yet, they hoarded it up their penthouse for their personal use. The students have been telling me that it was their television and they should use it because it came from their money, of course. My day was ruined just because of that. And to think about it, I was planning to be absent this day for nothing. Wala lang. I just don’t want to go to work; besides, it’s not as if I am planning to conduct a lecture for the class or whatsover. I just want to rest. I have had enough of my students for now, and I just want to lie down and crack open a book. I rarely do that nowadays. I miss having a carefree life. I miss it so much that sometimes, it even shows that I badly need to shift back into my juvenile delinquency days. I wished that I didn’t go to work this day.
Hmm…
I don’t know if I can make it until the end of my contract, working in this school. I have mentioned several things about the school that I have been working on, and I think my rebellious nature is quickly showing that the Division Head seldom nags me to work outside the boundaries of my four-walled classroom. This afternoon, she barely even warned me that we had to meet the president for the school paper. The thing is, I have had enough of his unreasonable demands to us teachers while he just stays inside his plush-carpeted room, his rheumatic back lying on his comfy swivel chair while he preserves his youthful preserved glow inside his air-conditioned room.
This afternoon, he has been nagging us to write an article about the seminar that we have attended in Ateneo, as if our whole lives just revolve around work. I admit that more often than not, I waste time by surfing the net and blogging, but those things are my forms of relaxation. It’s pretty hard to explain to him about these things.
This afternoon, the thing that he has been nagging us was about this girl named Ira Marasigan. According to him, this girl named Ira is a finalist for Philippine Idol (a crappy version of American Idol, Filipino style) and she studied at A***** (haha. cannot mention the name!) before. He has told us that we should have a text campaign for the students as well as the teachers to support this Ira girl so she could win the Philippine Idol. Crap. I have nothing against Ira Marasigan (even though the only thing that I know about her is that she is the daughter of the talented actress Irma Adlawan), but it was really irritating. He was demanding that we should text to Philippine Idol when he himself doesn’t watch that show and has no intention or whatsover to use his cell phone to text a Globe or Smart number for P2.50.

I was so irritated that I really snapped back at him, "MAGTEXT DIN KAYO, SIR," to which he didn’t reply. I just stared at the wine-stained plush carpeted floor.
